NEW DELHI: To give them a separate identity, hydrogen-fuelled vehicles will soon get a new type of registration plates, with the road transport ministry proposing a mix of two colours as base for these number plates.As per a draft notification, for commercial vehicles, the top half of the registration plate will be green and bottom half will be blue. The alphanumeric characters will be in yellow. For private vehicles, while the colour combination will be the same, the alphanumeric characters will be in white.The notification said that for rent-a-cab category, the top half will be black and bottom half will be blue, with the alphanumeric characters being in yellow.

New Delhi: Road transport and highways minister Nitin Gadkari on Friday said the Centre and states could earn up to ₹40,000 crore in goods and services tax (GST) if all the 9.7 million unfit and polluting vehicles in the country are scrapped.
