New Delhi, June 27 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the centenary celebrations of Acharya Shri 108 Vidyanand Ji Maharaj, one of modern India's most revered Jain spiritual leaders, at a formal ceremony in the national capital tomorrow. Organised by the Ministry of Culture in association with the Bhagwan Mahaveer Ahimsa Bharti Trust, the programme marks the commencement of a year-long national tribute to commemorate the 100th birth anniversary of the Acharya -- a renowned scholar, philosopher, and social reformer, according to a government statement here. Acharya Vidyanand Ji Maharaj, a profound authority on Jain philosophy, is credited with memorising over 8,000 verses from Jain Agamas and authoring more than 50 seminal works, including Jain Darshan, Anekantvad, and Mokshmarg Darshan. His contributions extended beyond scholarship -- he played a pivotal role in the restoration of ancient Jain temples in Delhi, Vaishali, Indore, and Shravanabelagola, said the statement.
