The movie will be brought to the audience in Kerala by Vaika Enterprises Maryland, helmed by Mr Senthil Subramaniam. The year 2024 was a mixed one for Tamil cinema, with its share of highs and lows. The much-anticipated sequel Viduthalai 2, directed by National Award Winning filmmaker Vetrimaaran, is expected to end the year on a high note and bring success to the industry. Starring Vijay Sethupathi and Soori in lead roles, the film is going to hit the theatres on December 20. The movie will be brought to the audience in Kerala by Vaika Enterprises Maryland, helmed by Mr Senthil Subramaniam. As a part of the film's promotions, Senthil Subramaniam met the music director Ilaiyaraaja in Chennai and sought his blessings the other day. Vaika Enterprises Maryland is stepping into the Malayalam film industry with a promise to bring quality cinema to the audience. Termed as the first production company in Malayalam cinema, Maryland is now collaborating with major production houses to present impactful films that cater to the tastes of today's audiences. Apart from this, the film's music launch event was held yesterday, which is November 26. The actor, Vijay Sethupathi disclosed the actual date of the audio launch event on X initially. The dubbing part of the movie has already begun, and Viduthalai 2's production house, RS Infotainment, has also tweeted the pictures which show Sethupathi and other cast members performing puja, and discussing in front of the mic. The film which stars Vijay Sethupathi in the lead role marks comedian Soori's debut as a lead actor. Viduthalai 2 begins at the part where the first part of the movie ends. The movie is expected to explore more about Perumaal Vaathiyaar's backstory, played by Sethupathi, and conclude the intertwined stories of the rebel leader and police officer Kumaresan played by Soori. The trailer of the sequel was launched at an event in Chennai where the songs composed by Ilaiyaraaja were also released. The trailer shows how Perumal, a simple laborer, became Perumal Vaathiyaar. It underscores how oppression takes many forms and how its impact is not always easy to grasp. The trailer also includes scenes of intense violence against the oppressed, not only by people in society but also through institutions like the police and other authorities.
