New Delhi: World champion javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra is going to participate in the Paris Diamond League to be held at Stade Sebastian-Charlottey, France on 20 June 2025. This will be Neeraj's second Diamond League competition this season. Earlier, he has participated in the Doha Diamond League in May. His last participation in Paris was in 2017, where he finished fifth by throwing a distance of 84.67 meters. In that competition, Johannes Vetter of Germany took the first place by throwing a distance of 88.74 meters. In May this year, at the Doha Diamond League, Neeraj broke his own national record and recorded a tremendous throw of 90.23 meters. This was better than his previous best throw of 89.94 meters (2022, Stockholm Diamond League). However, despite this historic performance, he finished second. Julian Weber of Germany won the competition by throwing a distance of 91.06 meters. Strong performance in Chorzow too Neeraj participated in the Janusz Kusoczynski Memorial in Chorzow, Poland on 23 May. Despite rain and wet conditions, he achieved a distance of 84.14 meters in the last attempt and once again finished second behind Julian Weber. Weber threw a distance of 86.12 meters this time.
