Singapore, 26 June (Argus) -- Indian metal firm Hindalco has acquired a full stake in US-based alumina producer AluChem for $125mn, it announced on 24 June. Aditya, Hindalco's wholly owned subsidiary, will carry out the acquisition. The transaction is expected to close in the third quarter, pending customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals. New Delhi, Jan 31 (PTI) Chemical company GHCL Ltd on Friday posted a 68 per cent rise in net profit to Rs 168 crore in the December quarter mainly due to lower operating expenses. The company's operating expenses came down to Rs 548 crore during the quarter compared to Rs 648 crore in the same period a year ago, the company said in a statement.
