Itanagar, Apr 4: Researchers have identified three previously unknown species of rove beetles in Arunachal Pradesh, highlighting the state's vast yet underexplored insect diversity. The study, published recently in the journal Soil Organisms, documented three new species under the genus Megalopinus - Megalopinus arunachalensis, Megalopinus mithun, and Megalopinus micros. New Delhi, Aug 29 (PTI) The Supreme Court-mandated Central Empowered Committee (CEC) has sought a ban on Conocarpus, a fast-growing exotic species planted widely in India for quick greening of roads and urban spaces, saying it poses grave ecological and public health risks.
