NEW DELHI: Childhood cancer ranked among the top ten causes of deaths in India, killing 17,000 in 2023, according to the latest findings from the Global Burden of Disease (GBD) 2023 study. New Delhi, Apr 3 (PTI) Ninety four per cent of childhood cancer deaths and 85 per cent of new cases occur in low and middle-income countries, highlighting persistent inequities in healthcare access and treatment, according to a global analysis published in The Lancet journal.
