500 companies of central forces to stay on in Bengal after results, says EC

NEW DELHI: As many as 500 companies of central armed police forces (CAPFs) will stay deployed in Bengal for post-poll law and order duties after the poll results are out, "till further orders of the Election Commission", EC said on Friday.Each CAPF company comprises 80-100 personnel. West Bengal: EC orders suspension of joint BDO ahead of polls

Kolkata, Apr 3 (PTI) The Election Commission on Friday ordered the immediate suspension of a joint block development officer (BDO) in poll-bound West Bengal and directed the initiation of disciplinary proceedings against her. The poll body, however, did not mention the grounds for the action.
