Varanasi: By Sunday afternoon, the overflowing Ganga reached half a metre above the danger mark of 71.26 metres in Kashi, starting to enter the city areas through many ghats and affecting life in over 60 villages and urban localities, especially along the river Varuna and in the Ganga stream. Varanasi: The continuously rising level of the Ganga almost touched the warning level of 70.26 meters on Saturday, increasing threat of flooding in low-lying areas of the city, especially on the banks of the tributary river Varuna.
