AGRA, Apr 7 : Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday delivered a major development gift to the Taj City of Agra. At a ceremony held in Rahankalan near the Agra Inner Ring Road, the Chief Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for 325 development projects worth Rs6,466.37 crore. He performed the groundbreaking ceremony for the "Greater Agra" township, laying a roadmap for the city's urban expansion. The Chief Minister stated that "Greater Agra" will not only be a smart city but also a safe, modern, and well-organized city. He envisioned its future development modeled after Noida, where the arrival of large companies will create extensive employment opportunities. Under the Uttar Pradesh government's "New City Promotion Scheme," this ambitious township will be developed by the Agra Development Authority on an area of 449.65 hectares, at a cost of approximately Rs5,142 crore. The project's sectors will be named after 10 sacred rivers, including the Ganga, Yamuna, Saraswati, and Godavari. Multi-storey flats, group housing, plots, wide roads, sewerage systems, green areas, and modern civic amenities will be developed here for over 10,000 families. The project has received RERA approval. During the event, the Chief Minister, citing bad weather, explained that he had to return via the Mathura-Vrindavan route and stayed at the Agra airport for a while. He expressed gratitude for the large crowd's enthusiasm despite the delay. The 325 projects include plans to strengthen the city's infrastructure, housing, tourism, and connectivity. The Chief Minister stated that the development of the Agra airport will be accelerated, with the goal of completing the new civil terminal by the end of this year. Additionally, work will be carried out on the development of the Fatehpur Sikri area and the construction of a rubber dam. Referring to global conditions, the Chief Minister said that while many countries around the world are grappling with inflation and instability, India, under the leadership of Narendra Modi, is rapidly progressing on the path of development. Yogi said that historic decisions by the Central Government, such as the abrogation of Article 370, have dealt a decisive blow to terrorism.
