New Delhi: Congress general secretary in-charge of West Bengal Ghulam Ahmed Mir and a few other observers were desperately looking for candidates in the Murshidabad district in a bid to sideline veteran leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury in the ticket distribution from his bastion. It seemed they were on a mission. These Congress leaders had a grudge that Adhir, a five-time Lok Sabha member from Berhampore, doesn't answer their phone calls nor attend any meetings called by the general secretary or any other central office bearer.
