Punjab announces four-day week for schools; timings revised

LAHORE - The Punjab government has officially announced that all public and private schools in the province will now operate on a four-day week. The School Education Department has issued a notification in this regard, stating that that schools will remain closed on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, with classes running from Monday to Thursday. "Pursuant to approval of the Competent Authority, it is hereby notified that all notified that all public and private schools across Punjab shall remain off on Friday until further order," read the notification. The department has also revised school timings across the province. For single-shift school, the opening and closing hours will observed from 8:00 am to 1:30 pm. In double-shift schools, the morning shift will end at 12:30 pm, while the second shift will operate from 1:00 pm to 5:30 pm.
