Gandhinagar: The office of the chief electoral officer (CEO) of Gujarat will begin the special intensive revision (SIR) of electoral rolls from Tuesday. The exercise is scheduled to be completed by Feb 7, 2026.According to the schedule issued by the CEO's office, training of personnel for the revision exercise will be conducted from Oct 28 to Nov 3. House-to-house verification by both level officers (BLOs) will take place between Nov 4 and Dec 4, followed by the publication of the draft electoral roll on Dec 9.Stakeholders will be able to file claims and objections from Dec 9 to Jan 8, 2026, while hearings and verification of these will be carried out between Dec 9 and Jan 31, 2026. The final electoral roll will be published on Feb 7, 2026.Officials said the primary objective of the SIR is to ensure that electoral rolls are accurate, inclusive, and error-free, by enrolling eligible voters and deleting ineligible or duplicate entries.Ashok Patel, Joint CEO of Gujarat, said, "We will start training newly appointed staff from Tuesday itself.
