Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala Assembly witnessed heated scenes on Tuesday after the opposition raised the issue of the abduction of Koothattukulam councillor Kala Raju. The opposition staged a walkout following the discussion. While Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan stated that four cases had been registered in connection with the incident, he accused Kala Raju of switching sides. A visibly enraged opposition leader, VD Satheesan, questioned, "A councillor was abducted and insulted in this state. Is this the justice we wish to serve our mothers and sisters?" Opposition leaders also questioned why a case was registered after 4 pm when the abduction took place in the morning. "The urgency seen in resolving Honey Rose's complaint was not seen in an abduction case," they pointed out.
