Gaya: AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Tuesday announced that Shan Ali, accused of killing Qeyamuddin Ansari, the then station house officer of Kothi police station in Gaya in Oct 2016, would contest the upcoming assembly election from Sherghati on his party's ticket.Ali, who was arrested from Delhi in connection with the murder, is currently out on bail. He has a long criminal record. He had earlier escaped from jails in Chatra and Aurangabad and faces dozens of cases related to murder and other serious offences registered at different police stations in Bihar and Jharkhand.Speaking at a public meeting held at Ranglal High School in Sherghati, Owaisi hailed Shan Ali as a "crusader against injustice".
