Rahul Lauds Indian Two-Wheeler Brands In Colombia

NEW DELHI: Rahul Gandhi, who is on a four-nation tour of South America, posted a picture on X from Colombia, standing in front of a Bajaj Pulsar motorcycle. He praised Indian two-wheeler manufacturers Bajaj, Hero, and TVS for their success in Colombia, saying it shows Indian companies can succeed through innovation, not cronyism. "Proud to see Bajaj, Hero & TVS do so well in Colombia. Shows Indian companies can win with innovation, not cronyism. Great job," the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha wrote in his post. Earlier, addressing a seminar titled 'The Future is Today' at EIA University in Medellin, Gandhi criticised the idea of three or four businesses dominating the entire economy. He said India's system is more complex than China's and has very different strengths. Highlighting India's spiritual tradition and philosophical depth, he said these offer valuable ideas for the modern world. "I am very optimistic about India, but at the same time, there are fault lines within the Indian structure. The single-biggest risk is the attack on democracy that is taking place in India," he cautioned. Gandhi added that India's diversity of religions, traditions, and languages makes the country a continuous conversation among its people. "Different ideas, religions and traditions require space. The best method for creating that space is the democratic system," he said.
