Ladakh protest: In a matter of grave concern for one of the most beautiful regions of India, Ladakh has been witnessing a surge in protests demanding full statehood from the central government. The protesters led by renowned engineer and education reformer Sonam Wangchuk are seeking full statehood and constitutional safeguards. For a background, the central government separated Ladakh from Jammu and Kashmir and made it a Union Territory in 2019 as it abolished Article 370.
