KATHUA, July 10: Railway traffic was disrupted after a boggy of a goods train on way from Jammu to Delhi derailed at Lakhanpur railway track due to land slide on the track as heavy rains lashed the Kathua and adjoining areas last night. Click here to watch video The train pilot after seeing boulders on the track applied the brake to stop the train but one boggy got derailed. Soon after the accident the technical staff of the Railways rushed to the spot and repaired the track and cleared the boulders after five hours. However the train traffic remained suspended on this track for some time. After the restoration of track the goods train left for Delhi. Station Manager Railway Station Jammu, Satinder Singh said that train services were disrupted and about 12 trains were affected due to derailment of goods train at Lakhanpur. He said the Railway staff is on the job to restore the train traffic.

CHENNAI: A massive fire broke out near the Tiruvallur railway station early Sunday when one of the wagons of a goods train carrying diesel derailed, throwing several train services off schedule and passengers scrambling through the day. The train was moving from Chennai Harbour to Walajah Road Siding. No casualty was reported in the incident that happened around 5:30 am on Sunday.
